| How long does EMDR take?
The particular target of EMDR will determine how many sessions are necessary. One or more sessions are required for the therapist to understand the nature of the problem and to decide whether EMDR is an appropriate treatment. Typically the course of EMDR treatment will take longer than one session. Once the therapist and client have agreed that EMDR is appropriate for a specific problem or issue, the EMDR process can begin. A typical EMDR session can take 90 minutes, however many are done in a 50 minute session. |
