| What is EMDR?
EMDR is a form of accelerated information processing therapy. It can be thought of as a physiologically based therapy that helps a person see disturbing material in a new and less distressing way. EMDR is a set of protocols that incorporate elements from different treatment approaches including psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, interpersonal, experiential and body centered therapies (adapted from internet-EMDR Institute, Inc., 2003). |
